An intergender grappling match was 'cancelled' after the male fighter kissed his female opponent at the weigh-in.
Australian fighter Craig Jones had been set to take on Gabi Garcia in a fight at the 'Craig Jones Invitational' this weekend, but that was thrown into doubt following the events.
The fight had been made due to the size difference between the two, with Garcia towering over her opponent in the face-offs that the duo had in the build-up to the battle.
Jones, who is 33 and boasts a record of 55 career wins to his name, was described by some as the underdog going into the bout. Garcia, who like Jones is a Brazilian Brazilian jiu-jitsu star, has registered 71 wins with a further six MMA victories.
But the fight was launched into jeopardy just hours out from the scheduled bout during the final face-off, which saw Jones seemingly grab his opponents and kiss her on the lips.

Jones took to social media to suggest the fight was off, before declaring it was on again
Garcia, 38, let out a shout before calling Jones a 'b***h' and yelling 'f*** you' claiming her opponent 'crossed the line'
In a video of the incident, shared on Jones' Instagram account, Garcia could be seen once again towering over her shirtless opponent as they locked eyes.
Almost instantly, however, Jones appeared to grab Garcia's head and lock lips.
Garcia, 38, let out a scream of sorts in response, and could be seen chasing Jones as he fled the scene.
She could also be seen yelling: 'Man. You're a b***h man. Craig, really? F*** you. You crossed the line, crossed the line, crossed the line,' before slapping the camera away.
The video ended with a slow motion replay of the kiss, and was captioned: 'Fight's cancelled. I guess Brazilians can't take a joke.'
In the build-up to the fight, Jones had seemingly made a number of references towards his opponent surrounding love, including saying that she would 'leave the alley with a limp, and the OnlyFans video shoot with a worst limp'.
Garcia was also asked if any part of her had a crush on Jones, to which she replied: 'Zero.'
Jones, meanwhile, had appeared to get his opponent's name tattooed on him.
Garcia addressed the incident in a number of posts on her own Instagram account, appearing to brand Jones 'a clown'
The fight, due to take place in Las Vegas on Saturday night, has been subbed a 'super fight'
Jones later shared a number of the photos of the weigh-in on social media, suggesting the fight was again back on.
It is scheduled to take place on Saturday night in Las Vegas and has been dubbed a 'super fight'.
Garcia took to her own Instagram to address the incident, saying in a series of stories: 'I'm more mad because he hurt my head than that he tried to kiss me. My head still hurts but look, it's martial arts, right? Don't blame the clown.
'Instead ask yourself, "Why do I keep going to the circus?" I'm the clown or he's the clown, but you're going to the circus, right? You're there for a laugh. If I didn't want nobody judging me or talking s*** about me, or laughing about me, I probably would have stopped a long time ago, like 18 years ago.'
