The Los Angeles Police Department has announced it is conducting 'mass arrests' as defiant immigration rioters defied curfew Tuesday night.
Mayor Karen Bass declared earlier in the day that downtown Los Angeles would be under a curfew from 8pm through 6am Wednesday 'to stop the vandalism, to stop the looting' after more than 20 businesses were vandalized the night before.
But protesters remained on the scene, with one man in his early 20s telling DailyMail.com: 'I know my rights and am willing to be arrested unjustly. I have a right to be here and protest.'
The LAPD has since said the groups that remained in the downtown area 'are being addressed and mass arrests are being initiated.'
In a separate post it added that 'dozens of arrests' had already been made for failing to disperse at the scene of an unlawful assembly.'
Tuesday marked the fifth day in a row police declared the protests of ICE raids an 'unlawful assembly' as California Gov. Gavin Newsom tries to get the National Guard out of the City of Angels.
He has repeatedly claimed that President Donald Trump overstepped his authority in federalizing the California National Guard.
But he faced a setback on Tuesday when a judge denied his emergency motion to get the National Guard out of the city and gave the Trump administration until midday Wednesday to respond to Newsom's filing.
In the meantime, the president has suggested he may deploy the National Guard and troops to quell other riots in the future as the protests spread from coast to coast.
For now, though, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the military will stay in Los Angeles for 60 days to combat violent 'rioters, looters and thugs'' during the immigration riots.
Mass arrests are now being made in LA, as protesters defy the curfew, the LAPD announced on social media.
It said 'multiple groups' are congregating on First Street between Alameda and Spring streets.
'Those groups are being addressed and mass arrests are being initiated,' the LAPD said.
'Dozens of arrests have been made for failing to disperse at the scene of an Unlawful Assembly,' it added in a separate post.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced he is deploying the National Guard ahead of planned protests on Wednesday and Saturday, KSAT reports.
His office said that Texas 'will not tolerate the lawlessness we have seen in Los Angeles' and vowed that 'anyone engaging in acts of violence or damaging property will be swiftly held accountable to the full extent of the law.'
Protesters and New York City police officers had several scuffles Tuesday night.
As the crowd dwindled after 10pm, officers tried to keep the sidewalks near Foley Square clean - pushing some demonstrators to the ground and using pepper spray during some of the arrests, the New York Times reports.
Then, at around midnight, demonstrators rushed toward white vans with flashing emergency lights that emerged from near the ICE offices.
Police then arrested a number of people, wrestling them to the ground.
Donald Trump is set to send thousands more illegal migrants to the infamous terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay starting this week in an acceleration of his mass deportation plan.
In February, Trump deployed members of the Armed Forces to expand the capacity of a detention facility at the Cuba base.
This week, at least 9,000 people are being identified for a potential transfer to the prison as early as Wednesday, Politico reported.
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow floated a bizarre theory about Donald Trump's motives behind sending the military to Los Angeles over the weekend amid widespread protests against immigration enforcement.
To date, Trump has sent 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to LA, a move Governor Gavin Newsom and other Democrats have fiercely condemned.
The California governor is apparently fundraising off of the riots, with screenshots posted online showing Democrats receiving text messages encouraging them to send Newsom their support and make a monetary donation.
The link leads to a form praising Newsom for his actions, which it says 'wasn’t just brave -- it was the leadership this country needs right now.'
Police in Atlanta, Georgia have started to detain protesters.
Authorities said the protests in Brookhaven began peacefully, but when officers tried to disperse the crowd at around 9.30pm, some protesters began throwing rocks and fireworks at police.
The windows of three police vehicles were damaged in the attack.
Officers then used teargas to break up the crowd and made six arrests, according to Atlanta News First.
Vivek Ramaswamy on Tuesday compared California Gov. Gavin Newsom to a former Alabama governor who fought federal desegreagation.
'George Wallace fought against federal desegregation; Gavin Newsom now fights against federal deportations,' Ramawamy said.
'George Wallace wanted segregated cities; Gavin Newsom now wants for sanctuary cities.'
'And mark my words: Gavin Newsom’s presidential ambitions will end the same way George Wallace’s did - in the dustbins of history,' the former Republican presidential candidate said.
He noted that in 1963, then president JFK deputized the National Guard to force the issue.

LAPD squads in riot gear began storming the streets immediately surrounding the Federal Building on Los Angeles St. in downtown Los Angeles shortly after Mayor Karen Bass’s 8pm curfew went into effect.
Police cars blocked off streets and uniformed officers fast marched to the location. Agitators were forced back half a block from the location but still swarmed the area.
The intense tactical operation continued as officers, including mounted police, created so-called skirmish lines to push rioters away from other other federal building on the same block.
Daily Mail witnessed cars with their lights off pulling up a block away. Four agitators wearing matching black hoodies and face masks piled out of each vehicle and began moving towards the lines of police.
Despite the curfew order having been called, some protestors - waving flags and yelling - defiantly stared down police who watched on and stood their ground rather than make arrests. One protestor, a man aged in his early 20s with a Mexican flag draped over his shoulders, told Daily Mail: 'I know my own rights and am willing to be arrested unjustly. I have a right to be here and protest.'
People began chanting and cheering with a motorcyclist began doing burnouts in front of officers. White LAPD buses arrived on scene at 8:50pm, officers made plans to make arrests.
A tipping point has been reached at 9:05pm as police began making arrests outside the Federal Building. About a dozen people were arrested by cops and made to face a wall with their hands behind their back and tied with zip ties before being marched on a white LAPD bus. Bizarrely, public buses still operated two blocks away from the dramatic scene.
Addressing reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday, President Donald Trump suggested he may deploy the National Guard and troops to quell other riots in the future.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom gave his much anticipated 'major address' on Tuesday night - but for the first few minutes nobody could hear what he was saying.
The stream of his address apparently suffered technical difficulties, as none of the networks broadcasting his message had any audio in the beginning.
Many were quick to point out the problems on social media, with one X user writing: 'Newsom is so inept, he throws a news conference, all the stations are carrying it and first 5 minutes no audio, second try the video goes dead, third attempt the audio goes away then blacks out.'
'No audio, no brains, no support. Newsom is a complete and utter loser,' another added.

Guests had paid a minimum of $1,500 to see the Duchess of Sussex, 43, give a speech at this Saturday’s Night of Wonder ball at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has officially declared a 'local emergency' in the city and set a curfew 'to stop the vandalism, to stop the looting.'
The curfew goes into effect at 8pm and lasts until 6am.
'Law enforcement will arrest individuals who break the curfew, and you will be prosecuted,' Bass announced.
LAPD Chief Jim McDonell also told residents: 'If you are in the curfew zone during the restricted hours without that legal exemption, you will be arrested. If you assault an officer in any fashion, you will be arrested.'
Hundreds of demonstrators came together in New York City on Tuesday evening for a march protesting a range of issues.
Chants were heard coming from the crowd as members of the group held signs for varying issues.
Some held signs which read 'ICE out of New York City', while others waved flags of Mexico and the Palestinian flag, CNN reported.
The group came together outside federal buildings and ICE offices in Foley Square before moving throughout several blocks to another immigration court and the location of another ICE office.
Their meeting comes despite NYC Mayor Eric Adams warned that violence will not be tolerated as immigration protests pop up across the country.
'Keeping the people of our city safe has always been my North Star. That means keeping people safe from violent protests and it means protecting people who are trying to do the right thing by protesting peacefully for what they believe,' Adams said.
'But two wrongs do not make a right. I understand that some New Yorkers may be angry, afraid and ready to express that. New York City will always be a place to peacefully protest, but we will not allow violence and lawlessness.'
Protesters once again tried to block traffic on Highway 101, but they were quickly pushed back by members of the California Highway Patrol, the LA Times reports.

'We call on the Mexican community to act in a peaceful manner and not to fall into provocations,' she said at the time.
Twenty-five Republican Attorneys General have signed a joint statement showing their support for President Donald Trump's decision to send in the National Guard.
'We will always defend the right to peacefully protest, but there's nothing peaceful about arson, assault and anarchy. If you set police cars on fire, throw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement and loot businesses, you will be held accountable,' they said.
'In California, we're seeing the results of leadership that excuses lawlessness and undermines law enforcement.
'When local and state officials won't act, the federal government must.'
After a federal judge denied Gov. Gavin Newsom's emergency motion to block the deployment of the National Guard and Marines, the governor doubled down.
In a series of posts on X, the governor's press office said President Donald Trump's actions were illegal, as it was done without the governor's approval.
'The federalization of the California National Guard deprives California of resources to protect itself and its citizens, including those working on drug interdiction at the border, and of critical responders in the event of a state of emergency — such as the January 2025 firestorm in Los Angeles, which Cal Guard responded to,' it argued.
One of the 'rooftop Koreans' who took to LA's rooftops in 1992 during the Rodney King riots to defend their businesses is furious that history is repeating itself in modern day California.

'I mean, you got all these people out there, and we see what's happening, and every station is showing it happening, and they're smashing up rocks and they're setting fires on the street,' he continued
'And yet, everybody is allowed to wander and do their thing.'
As Michaelson spoke, protesters in the shot were seen using hammers to break off debris before stuffing it into backpacks.

Newsom will then have an opportunity to file its opposition ahead of a hearing at 1.30pm Thursday.

Donald Trump has threatened to invoked the Insurrection Act to stop the LA rioters.
The Insurrection Act authorizes the president to deploy military forces inside the United States to suppress rebellion or domestic violence or to enforce the law in certain situations.
It is often referred to as the 'Insurrection Act of 1807,' but the law is actually an amalgamation of different statutes enacted by Congress between 1792 and 1871.

In his latest social media bombshell, Brown sent a message to Newsom simply claiming 'I had sex wit ur wife Gavin', after the politician revealed he is suing President Donald Trump.
There is no evidence to suggest that Brown's latest incendiary post is based in truth, but it quickly went viral and created a huge reaction from the public.
California Governor Gavin Newsom filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order to block the Trump Administration from using National Guard.
'I just filed an emergency motion to block Trump’s illegal deployment of Marines and National Guard in Los Angeles,' he said on X.
'Trump is turning the U.S. military against American citizens. The courts must immediately block these illegal actions.'
According to a copy of the filing viewed by CNN, the state said the order 'will prevent the use of federalized National Guard and active duty Marines for law enforcement purposes on the streets of a civilian city.'

Bass, speaking at a press conference, said the city's economy will 'collapse' if Trump deports more illegal migrants, and taunted him: 'Don't you want the World Cup to be a success for you?'
The mayor said she is 'going to put out a call' to Trump and tell him to remove the troops.
'I want to tell him to stop the raids. I want to tell him that this is a city of immigrants. I want to tell him that if you want to devastate the economy of the city of Los Angeles, then attack the immigrant population,' she said.
She emphasized that the graffiti is 'blanketing a number of blocks,' which is problematic as the city prepares to host several World Cup games.
'This is so extensive it's going to take community-wide involvement,' Bass said.
Immigration protests have popped up across the country in solidarity of those in LA.

'There is no emergency, widespread threat, or out of control violence in Los Angeles,' Caruso said in a post on Sunday.

She called the violence and damage 'unacceptable' but claimed the perpetrators are not supporting immigrants.
'I do not believe that individuals that commit vandalism and violence in our city really are in support of immigrants. They have another agenda,' the mayor said.
'Unfortunately, the visuals make it seem as though our entire city is in flames, and it is not the case at all.'
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem sent a letter to the Defense Secretary, asking him to send troops to LA one day before Donald Trump issued the order.

The term refers to the Korean Americans who armed themselves and took to their roofs to defend their homes and business during the 1992 LA riots.
Moon, who refers to himself as '1992 OG Roof Korean' in his X biography, said it is too soon to tell if 'Rooftop Koreans' will return for the immigration riots.

He also slammed Gavin Newsom, writing, 'Shut up and sit down. This is the last f**k up that'll seal you political career as a "has been."'
President Donald Trump refused to rule out invoking the Insurrection Act in Los Angeles as he tore into 'bad people' and 'animals' he said brought the city to the verge of burning down.
'If there's an insurrection, I would certainly invoke it. We'll see. But I can tell you, last night was terrible. The night before that was terrible,' Trump said.
He repeatedly referred to 'bad, sick people' and 'agitators' he said were paid.
'There are certainly areas of Los Angeles you could have called It an insurrection,' Trump said. It was terrible.'
His word choice is relevant, in part because there is statutory authority under the Insurrection Act to use the military domestically in case of rebellion or insurrection.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told lawmakers the deployment of National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles will cost at least $134 million and last 60 days.
'We stated very publicly that it’s 60 days because we want to ensure that those rioters, looters and thugs on the other side assaulting our police officers know that we’re not going anywhere,' he said.
'Thankfully, unlike the previous administration, we've got a 13% increase in our defense budget, and we will have the capability to cover down on contingencies, which is something the National Guard and the Marines plan for.
'So we have the funding to cover down on contingencies, especially ones as important as maintaining law and order in a major American city. As far as training, all of the units on the ground have been fully trained in their capabilities of what they're executing on the ground.'
Tom Homan has accused MSNBC of deceptively editing an interview where he was probed about whether he would arrest California officials Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass amid the Los Angeles riots.
The White House official blasted MSNBC correspondent Jacob Soboroff as 'dishonest' after the reporter published their exchange, which showed Homan saying he would order the arrest of anyone who impedes law enforcement officers.
Soboroff went on to interview Newsom, telling him that Homan 'did not rule out literally arresting you' - which prompted a fiery response from the Democrat Governor as he hit back by daring Homan to detain him.
'That reporter from MSNBC, he's a joke, he's a dishonest reporter. He took a 20-minute interview and chopped it up,' Homan told Fox & Friends about their initial exchange.
'I never threatened to arrest the governor. I said nobody is above the law – but I also said they haven't crossed a line.'

Let the adults handle your chaos... You are such a fraud. If it weren't for a real leader protecting Californians from you, this whole state would be burning rubble. Resign!'
Rob Schneider shared a video on X of burning cars and wrote, 'Mostly Peaceful Democrats...'
He also called on Newsom, writing, 'The California has a reckless and feckless Governor. Gavin Newsom has tried his very best to ruin the former Golden State with policies that bankrupt the state and make it a crime filled homeless encampment.
'New Law... Make it ILLEGAL and a FEDERAL CRIME for Protesters to cover their faces.'
Dr. Phil McGraw was working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and border czar Tom Homan the day the protests started in Los Angeles.
The TV host previously worked with the agency as they rounded up undocumented migrants in Chicago in January.
On Friday, he was with Homan at the Homeland Security Investigations field office in LA, his conservative TV channel, MeritTV, told CNN.
He had 'exclusive' access to Homan, and the two men sat down for taped conversations about ICE efforts both 'the day before and the day after the LA operation.'
A MeritTV spokesperson said rather than join agents in the field, the two men taped interviews that were scheduled to air on 'Dr. Phil Primetime' on Monday and Tuesday nights.
'In order to not escalate any situation, Dr. Phil McGraw did not join and was not embedded,' the channel spokesperson said.

An LAPD spokesperson said they are investigating the matter and it is unclear if his death was related to protest activity.
Pete Hegseth refused to answer questions about the costs of deploying Marines to Los Angeles during his testimony before the House on Tuesday.
House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee ranking member Rep. Betty McCollum asked Hegseth what the cost of the deployment would be.
'This is a deeply unfair position to put our Marines in. There's no need for the Marines to be deployed,' McCollum said.
Hegseth deflected and attacked the decisions of the previous Biden administration, instead focusing on illegal immigration.
'Could the Secretary please address the budget,' McCollum asked him.
Hegseth refused to acknowledge McCollum's question and attacked the politics of the past administration.
Chaos erupted in Los Angeles over the weekend after protesters clashed with immigration officers on Friday.
Looters targeted businesses across the city amid the demonstrations, which saw cars torched and security forces firing tear gas at rioters.
President Donald Trump deployed another 2,000 National Guard troops, along with 700 Marines, to LA today after Monday marked a fourth day of destructive protests.
Elon Musk bolstered Democratic Sen. John Fetterman after he slammed his own party for backing – or at least refusing to call out – the violent and destructive LA rioters.
Fetterman demanded his caucus colleagues join him in denouncing rioters who are wreaking havoc on downtown Los Angeles.
'I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that,' Fetterman wrote on X with an image of cars on fire with a masked rioter waving a Mexican flag.
He continued: 'This is anarchy and true chaos. My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.'
Musk replied to Fetterman's post with an emoji of an American flag.
Left-wing streamer Hasan Piker shared footage of himself attending the LA riots on Monday.
'They're firing into the crowd now. I don't think that's fireworks, buddy,' he said as he walked through the chaos.
'They're already deploying flashbangs. Not great. Look, what they're going to try and do is close down the other side of the road.'
As he moved through a sea of people waving Mexican flags, the sound of flashbangs could be heard in the background.
'I think they're going to push in from this side of the road. Oh ****, oh *****. That f****d my hair up,' Piker said.
Charlamagne Tha God blamed Trump's deployment of the National Guard for the chaos in Los Angeles during Monday's episode of The Breakfast Club.
'Trump really wasted no time doing the worst of everything folks thought he would,' he said.
'Like, you can’t put the military on protesters. Did I miss something? Were they not being peaceful? Because I didn’t hear about any ruckus or violence until the National Guard showed up!'
His co-host, DJ Envy, mentioned the video of protesters throwing rocks at immigration officers.
'I did see one video, I guess it was a protester throwing rocks or bricks at cars as I guess they were agents when they were driving by,' he said.
'But did that call for the National Guard?' Charlamagne replied.
Pete Hegseth is testifying before a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing focused on the department's budget on Tuesday.

The twin daughters of a senior Los Angeles official were arrested in the ICE riots on Sunday night, where they allegedly assaulted a police officer with a deadly weapon.
Lucia Aguilar Cole, 26, who serves as the Community Growth and Economic Innovation Deputy for the Los Angeles City Council, was taken into custody around 7pm along with her sister, Antonia, according to LA Sheriff's Department records.
The women are the daughters of Rick Cole – the city's current Chief Deputy Controller and a former mayor of Pasadena. They were arrested during unrest that saw protesters hurling rocks and other objects from a bridge on to the 101 Freeway, where police vehicles were positioned below.
California Democrat Linda Sanchez told CNN Monday that the rioters participating in the fiery Los Angeles ICE protests were no different than sports fans.
'It's no different than when a team wins a national championship & people get overexcited,' Sanchez said, adding that the 'vast majority of protestors have been peaceful.'
'We have been calling for protestors to protest peacefully, that is their constitutional right. The vast majority of protestors have been peaceful. There are always a few bad actors.'
'And yes, we think anybody who commits property damage ought to be arrested and ought to be prosecuted,' Sanchez noted.
'But to send in federal troops, or Marines when there isn't a war atmosphere or a war circumstance going on, is just beyond the pail. It's authoritarian flexing. It's not making anyone safer.'
An Australian news reporter has spoken out about the terrifying moment she was tear-gassed by cops while covering the Los Angeles riots.
ABC's North America correspondent Lauren Day was reporting on the immigration protests, in California's biggest city on Monday evening, when she was hit with the non-lethal chemical weapon.
Day explained the police had been attempting to disperse demonstrators when she and her team were caught in the firing line.
'This is really an example of just how quickly things can escalate after a long standoff with protestors police have now started to disperse the crowds, including with tear-gas,' she told ABC News.
'We got hit and you can see why it's called tear-gas it burns your eyes, burns your nose, your lips, your throat.
'It's pretty unpleasant I've got to say.'
President Donald Trump defended his decision to deploy the National Guard to Los Angeles in a new Truth Social post.
'If I didn’t "SEND IN THE TROOPS" to Los Angeles the last three nights, that once beautiful and great City would be burning to the ground right now, much like 25,000 houses burned to the ground in L.A. do to an incompetent Governor and Mayor,' he said.
Gavin Newsom, who many have tipped to make a bid for the presidency in 2028 as the Democratic candidate, has lambasted Trump on social media, accusing him of using the National Guard and Marines as political pawns - and even dared border authorities to arrest him.
'U.S. Marines have served honorably across multiple wars in defense of democracy. They are heroes. They shouldn't be deployed on American soil facing their own countrymen to fulfill the deranged fantasy of a dictatorial President.
'This is un-American,' he wrote on social media platform X.
Trump meanwhile said it would be 'great' if Newsom were arrested, referred to the governor as Gavin 'Newscum' and declared that America would be plunged into 'civil war' were he in charge.
CNN's top data analyst revealed how Americans really feel about President Donald Trump's approach to immigration after the president sent federal troops to Los Angeles in the face of violent riots.
A poll conducted from June 4 to June 6 found that 54 percent of Americans approve of Trump's plans to deport all of those in the country illegally, Enten continued.
Another 51 percent said they supported agents searching their respective towns for suspected illegal aliens.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has vowed to hunt down the protestor filmed hurling cinder blocks at law enforcement vehicles during the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles.
The suspect, identified as Elpidio Reynam, has been added to the bureau's most wanted list after a $50,000 reward was announced for information leading to the suspect's arrest and conviction.
'That guy has just been identified, and they are doing a search warrant on his house as we speak,' Bondi told Fox News.
The FBI has accused the 40-year-old Reyna - who lives in Compton - of injuring a federal officer after throwing rocks at law enforcement vehicles, Fox reported.
The Los Angeles FBI has warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous and Essayli said on social media Monday that he faces eight years in prison if convicted of what he called a 'brazen attack' that could have killed officers.
President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles to quell the immigration protests.
The last time the military was used for direct police action under the Insurrection Act was in 1992, when the California governor at the time asked President George H.W. Bush to help respond to Los Angeles riots over the acquittal of police officers who beat black motorist Rodney King.
Trump's deployment also appeared to be the first time in decades that a state's National Guard was activated without a request from its governor.
The last time the National Guard was activated without a governor's permission was in 1965, when President Lyndon B. Johnson sent troops to protect a civil rights march in Alabama.
In a directive Saturday, Trump invoked a legal provision allowing him to deploy federal service members when there is 'a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States'.
California Governor Gavin Newsom contends it is his charge as governor to call in the National Guard, labelling Trump's action as 'an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism'.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum fanned the flames of the ongoing riots in Los Angeles, calling Mexican migrants living in the US 'heroes' while blasting the immigration policies of US President Donald Trump.
'We disagree with this approach to the migration phenomenon,' Sheinbaum said during a press conference Sunday afternoon in San Andrés Cholula, Puebla.
'It's not about raids or violence, but rather working on a comprehensive reform that takes into account the Mexicans on the other side of the border,' she added. 'That is our position, always a call for peace, to not exacerbate any form of violent protest.'
Sheinbaum said that 35 Mexican nationals were arrested by ICE agents as part of Trump's deportation efforts.
Jason Carroll, a CNN national correspondent covering the anti-ICE riots in his native California, was reporting from the scene when suddenly he was confronted by law enforcement.
Anchor Laura Coates interrupted CNN law enforcement and intelligence analyst John Miller: 'Wait one second, John. Hold on. I want to get Jason. What's going on? I hear you. What am I seeing? Jason Carroll being... What? What happened? Jason?'
Carroll finally speaks while talking to a member of law enforcement attempting to remove him from the area.
'I am being detained. I am being detained, Laura,' he said to Coates, before turning to the officer and asking: 'I am not being arrested, correct?'
LA Mayor Karen Bass encouraged rioters to 'rise to the moment' in a social media post that seemingly tried to urge for peaceful demonstration.
She urged protesters not to 'buy into Trump's chaos' and reiterated the demonstrations are 'about protecting our immigrant communities' and not the 'destruction' of LA.
Bass has repeatedly come under fire for her weak response to the riots, which saw her suggest that local law enforcement had the situation under control as the city burned.
Shocking footage shows how violent riots plunged Los Angeles into chaos for four days straight.
A van ploughed into crowds, protesters torched cars and threw rocks at cops, and journalists were shot with rubber bullets as authorities staged a brutal crackdown.
People were also left running for their lives as a people carrier was driven full-speed into a crowd, with reports that several protesters were injured.
An outraged shop owner hit out at the 'ridiculous' rioters who are targeting businesses in downtown LA.
'It doesn't look like they are protesting ICE,' Monty, owner of Bargain2Perfumes told NewsNation, 'They are just doing this for looting the store and everything.'
His store was among those broken into and raided during the riots.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom slammed President Donald Trump for allegedly mistreating the National Guard troops that the president deployed to LA.
Newsom has adamantly opposed Trump's order to deploy troops to curb the riots, arguing that the deployment of troops 'trampled' on the state's sovereignty.
California has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over the order.
A mystery donor was caught on camera dispersing tactical gear to Los Angeles rioters as anti-ICE protesters wreaked havoc on the city.
The unidentified woman passed out gas masks and riot shields to demonstrators from her Ford F-150 in the downtown streets, just steps from federal buildings, as the National Guard was stationed nearby.
The masks were branded 'bionic shield', FOX 11 reports, and the mystery donor - who handed out the goods from a pick-up truck - appeared to be travelling with a group of masked individuals.
It is unclear if they are affiliated with any particular organization.
Witnesses also claimed that the rioters were 'graffitiing, burning rubber nd preparing for clashes with police'.
